FEATURES AND IMPROVED
     Windows XP is known as an operating system that has the stability that has been upgraded from its predecessor, and also has a better efficiency than Windows 98, Windows ME, and Windows 2000 Professional. This is because Windows XP software to implement a management technique that can avoid the so-called "DLL hell" or "DLL HELL". In addition, the appearance of Windows XP was overhauled, until it becomes easier to use.
     Following are the features of Windows XP Professional (as it is considered the most complete)
·                     Support for Active Directory domain system
     Active Directory domain is the system used in Windows Server 2000 and Windows Server 2003. By using Active Directory, Microsoft Windows systems can be managed from one place, from systems running the Active Directory itself. This feature is very useful if applied in a fairly large company, as it will simplify all authentication process.
·                     Improved access control settings
     As an operating system intended for corporate users, of course, Windows XP has been equipped with access control settings. The feature is used to restrict access to anyone who does not have the right of access to a particular object. While this is not new technology, having been implemented in UNIX-based operating systems, the implementation of this feature in Windows XP has been applied in more advanced compared to UNIX, UNIX operating system considering restricting access using file permissions attributes. Previous operating systems, such as Windows 9x, not equipped with this feature, so that everyone will have the right to access any file without any difficulty.
·                     Supports encrypted file system (EFS)
     Windows XP has the EFS encryption system. This system is a system to protect critical data so that other users can not open a computer let alone another, except by opening the code. The system is quite reliable although not reliable third-party systems. The encrypted file will change color to green.
     Minimum hardware requirements for Windows XP Professional include:
• Processor Pentium 233-megahertz (MHz) or faster (300 MHz recommended)
• Minimum RAM should be 64 megabytes (MB) (128 MB recommended)
• Must be at least available space of 1.5 gigabytes (GB) on the hard disk
• CD-ROM drive or DVD-ROM
• Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or other compatible pointing device
• Video adapter and monitor with Super VGA (800 x 600) or higher resolution
• Sound Card
• speakers or headphones
